Dermal Fillers in Cheltenham
What are Dermal Fillers?
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance in the body. It is used in many medical applications and is most common material in dermal fillers. In general fillers are used to restore volume and to smooth out deep lines. They are used primarily in the face but can be particularly effective in other areas such as hand rejuvenation. Dermal fillers tend to be classified as non-permanent but the effects should last 9-12 months.
Types of filler
There are many different types of filler in use today but only a few have delivered consistently safe, effective long term results with minimal swelling or redness. At Cygnini, our preferred choice of filler is Juvederm.
Arguably the market leaders; Juvederm contains Lidocaine, a local anaesthetic which helps make the treatment process comfortable. Juvederm Ultra Smile or Volbella is dedicated to the lips and mouth area and Juvederm Hydrate aims to bring deep hydration to the face, neck, décolletage and hands.
The process?
As with all our treatments we give a full, thorough consultation to ensure that we are able to achieve the results that you are hoping for, before any treatment is carried out. Once an effective treatment plan has been agreed upon the injections themselves take approximately 15 minutes. The effects are immediate and you can probably go straight back to work afterwards if you choose.
How long will it last?
Dermal fillers produce immediate results, although none are completely permanent and may last 9-12 months. You will need to have the treatment repeated if you want to maintain your results.
What are the risks?
It is not uncommon to experience some temporary redness and swelling after your treatment. This can usually be disguised with concealer make-up. Allergic reaction is a rare complication as is infection and these will be discussed fully with you prior to your treatment.
Is it safe in pregnancy?
It is not known if dermal fillers can harm your unborn child
However, we will not perform this procedure on anyone who is pregnant or breast feeding
How much will it cost?
We charge per syringe which either come in 0.55ml or 1ml.
We would rarely augment the lips with more than 1ml of filler at one time.
Hands will usually each need 1ml of filler.
Cheeks may need 1ml in each cheek but can sometimes need more, subject to assessment.
Very good results can be seen with 1ml of filler in the face, but, depending on the procedure & your budget, the volume of filler used can be more than this.
